Most of us probably have an idea of what we think love is, right?

I know I do.

With the risk of sounding cliché on how love can be idealized — which it can - my idea of genuine love falls more in line with your significant other being your person. They’re your go-to when you’ve had a bad day. All you want is a big hug with their arms gripping you tight while comforting you and telling you that everything is going to be OK.

And, then it is.

They’re the first thing on your mind when you wake up and the last thought on your mind as you go to bed.

But the idea of genuine love goes deeper than that.

When you’re in love, you’re fighting for the relationship, you’re pulling your partner’s weight if they’re struggling and they’re holding you up if you stumble.

You got each other’s back so that neither of you fall.

You’re each other’s strength, each other’s happy thoughts, and both of you are not only planning your future together, you’re doing the work in making…
